Price’s Strong Night Not Enough for Chargers vs. Loggers

GALESBURG — Freshman Eric Price (Galesburg, Ill./Galesburg) had his best game of the season, but it wasn’t enough for the Carl Sandburg College men’s basketball team in a 76-61 loss to Lincoln Land on Wednesday night at John M. Lewis Gymnasium.

KEY MOMENTS
• The Chargers (9-4) trailed by double figures in the first half before Myles Estrada (St. Charles, Mo./Francis Howell Central) knocked down three straight 3-pointers to pull Sandburg within 29-26 at halftime.
• Lincoln Land (4-6) led 54-47 with 8:00 left before stringing together seven straight points to double its advantage. The Chargers were unable to close the gap to single digits after that point.

SANDBURG STANDOUT
Price had season-highs of 16 points and seven rebounds off the bench while shooting 6 of 13 from the floor. The first-year forward had a dozen of his points in the second half, and he led the Chargers in rebounding.

FOR THE LOGGERS
• Zoelin Pair — 19 points
• Quintez Edwards — 12 points
